Expanding Intellectual Property to Include Animation, Videos, Games, Rights, and Merchandising
In the IPEx business, we expand intellectual property to maximize its value.
We are expanding our product lineup to include videos, animation, games, and merchandising that originate from books and comics. At the same time, we are expanding into overseas markets, the digital content market, and the event and live performance business to increase items that derive from original content and maximize earnings from a complex structure.
We deliver video content, including animation, to overseas markets as well as the domestic market almost simultaneously. We have opened a cross-border e-commerce site, “EJ ANiME STORE”, where officially licensed merchandise can be purchased. We will pursue the expansion strategy in both online and offline markets.
The parent organizations of the video business of KADOKAWA are Kadokawa Pictures, Daiei Film, and Nippon Herald Films. We produced major movies, including KU-KAI: Mystery of a Beautiful Queen, a Japanese-Chinese movie, and Fukushima 50, which was released in 2020. We plan, produce, distribute, and advertise theatrical films and also distribute them in other media formats and online based on the original works of KADOKAWA. We also distribute and advertise excellent foreign films and provide foreign dramas.
